ARE YOU READY FOR A RETIRMENT VILLAGE ?

I have lived in a retirement village for the past 12 years of my life.    In particular in the FEATHERBROOKE HILLS RETIREMENT VILLAGE IN KRUGERSDORP and I will now give you some interesting information on retirement villages
1.   A Retirement Village is not an Old Age home. To live in one you must be able to basically be able to          look after yourself for your day to day living.

2. There are BASICALLY 3 systems in place in South Africa :

     A.    A system called life rights - You do not own the Property , You own the right to live there.
Once you bought the right to live there you own it until you die.   There are monthly levies to                 pay . When you die a certain % of what you paid is paid into your Estate.  I am not going to go              into  further details on this.
     B.    The second system is Ownership via (normally) Sectional Title. You become the owner and the
only real requirement is that you should be at least 50 years old to live in such a unit.
C     If you are at least 50 years old you could RENT a unit in a Retirement village owned by
            someone else
